Timetable widget for your website
Show your guests the next departures directly on your website: ideal for hotels and tourism sites. Choose a line and a stop, copy the code and paste it into your website. The widget is free and always shows current times.
What the widget looks like
Example: line 131 from Bolzano. Choose your own line and stop above and the preview will appear here.
Who the widget is for
Hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments
Your guests see the next departures from the stop outside your door before they ask at reception. A car-free holiday becomes easier and you save explanations.
Tourist offices and village websites
On your "How to get here" page the widget shows how guests reach the village from the station. One widget per line, for example for Merano, Bolzano or Brunico.
Attractions, cable cars and museums
Visitors plan their return trip while checking your opening hours. This also works for seasonal lines that only run in summer or winter: the widget always shows the timetable currently in force.
Municipalities and clubs
For events, citizen information or a sports club website: the departures from the village square are always up to date without anyone maintaining the page.
Restaurants and inns
Guests arriving by bus see right away when the last bus leaves. A good reason to order dessert.
How to embed the widget
- 1
Choose a line
Select the bus or train line that stops at your stop. The list contains all lines with a valid timetable.
- 2
Choose a stop
The second list shows all stops of this line in both directions. Pick the stop closest to your property.
- 3
Copy the code
The ready-made HTML code appears below the preview. One click on "Copy code" puts it on your clipboard.
- 4
Paste it into your website
Paste the code where you want the widget to appear, for example on your arrival page or in the sidebar. From now on the widget loads the current times on every visit.
Embedding in common website builders
- WordPress
- In the block editor add a "Custom HTML" block and paste the code into it. In the classic editor switch from "Visual" to "Text" in the top right corner and paste the code there.
- Wix
- Click "Add", then "Embed" and "Embed HTML". Paste the code into the field and resize the frame as needed.
- Jimdo
- Add an "HTML" element (called "Widget / HTML" in Jimdo Creator) and paste the code into it.
- Squarespace
- Add a "Code" block and choose "HTML" as the type. Paste the code and save the page.
- Other systems and agencies
- Any system that accepts HTML code works. If an agency maintains your website, simply send them the code and tell them where it should go.
What the widget shows
- The next four departures per direction from the chosen stop. The next departure is highlighted in colour.
- Towards evening the widget fills up with the first departures of the next day, marked "tomorrow".
- Always the timetable in force: at timetable changes and for seasonal lines the widget switches by itself. If a line is temporarily suspended, a notice appears instead of empty times.
- German or Italian, depending on the language in which you generate the code.
- A link to the full timetable of the line on fahrplan.it, including a printable PDF.
- No JavaScript, no cookies, no tracking. The widget does not slow down your site and does not trigger a cookie banner.
Technical notes
- Size
- The code sets the width to 100 % up to a maximum of 420 pixels and the height to 300 pixels. You can change both values in the code (width, max-width and height). Two directions need about 300 pixels of height, one direction fits in 200.
- Several widgets
- You can embed as many widgets as you like on one page, for example two lines or two stops. Generate one code for each.
- Changing the language
- In the address inside the code replace "/de/" with "/it/" or vice versa. Alternatively generate the code on the German or Italian version of this page.
- Stop
- The "station" parameter in the address defines the stop. If it is missing, the widget shows the first stop of the line.
- Accessibility
- The code contains a "title" attribute that screen readers announce. Leave it in the code.
- Embedding
- The widget may be embedded on any domain and is delivered over HTTPS. The response is cached for five minutes, so it loads quickly even with many visitors.
Frequently asked questions
Does the widget cost anything?
No. The widget is free, also for commercial websites such as hotels or holiday apartments. No registration is required.
Where does the timetable data come from?
The times come from the official timetables of South Tyrol public transport and are maintained on fahrplan.it. Timetable changes and seasonal timetables are added as soon as they are published.
Does the widget show real-time delays?
No. The widget shows the scheduled timetable in force, i.e. the planned departure times. Real-time data on delays and cancellations is available in the South Tyrol public transport app.
What happens at a timetable change?
Nothing you need to do. On every visit the widget loads the timetable in force at that moment. The code on your website stays unchanged.
Can I customise the appearance?
You define size and position in the code. Colours and font are fixed so the widget stays readable on any site.
Can I show several stops or lines?
Yes, with one widget per combination of line and stop. Generate the code several times and place the widgets side by side or below each other.
Which data is transmitted when the widget loads?
When the widget loads, your visitor's browser requests a page from fahrplan.it. This technically transmits the IP address, as with any image or script from an external server. The widget sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. You will find a text for your privacy policy below.
Do I have to link to fahrplan.it?
The link to the full timetable is part of the widget and stays in place. An additional link is not required, but appreciated.
Text for your privacy policy
If you embed the widget, you can add this paragraph to your privacy policy.
Terms of use
The widget is free and may be embedded on private and commercial websites. The link to the full timetable on fahrplan.it is part of the widget and must not be removed. The timetable data is maintained carefully, but we accept no liability for changes by the transport operators, cancellations or errors. We reserve the right to develop the widget further or to discontinue it.
Your business on the timetable page of your line
The widget brings the timetable to your website. It also works the other way round: as a partner you present your business on the timetable page of your line, which guests and locals visit every day.
